Fall Prevention

1 in 4 older adults reports falling. The CDC developed the STEADI (Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths & Injuries) initiative to provide tools and education to prevent falls. Here are some simple steps that are recommended to reduce the risk of falls.

  • Have your healthcare provider review your medicines
  • Exercise to improve your balance and strength
  • Have your eyes and feet checked
  • Make your home safer

If you have fallen or feel unsteady when walking, talk to your healthcare provider about your concerns. Many falls are preventable. Our rehabilitation team can assess your walking, strength, balance, and home safety and create a custom program to help keep you active and independent.
